Music For Meditation
Music for Meditation, our annual concert at the BMW Edge Theatre in Federation Square, brings together Melbourne's finest performers of contemplative and intuitive music.
The line-up for our first concert included shakuhachi player Andrew MacGregor, harpist Michael Johnson and harmonic overtone singer Dean Frenkel. A feature of the event was the Big Om, an interactive group sound experience facilitated by Dean Frenkel, in which the audience participated in a group harmonic singing lesson.
As well as entertaining our audience, Music for Meditation is designed to promote deep relaxation and enhance meditative states of mind. Sound has the ability to heal and transform and the use of music and sound is a simple and effective way to enter deeply relaxed states of consciousness.
